Quick Build
- Recommended Build
- Double Strafe + Trap kite
- Playstyle
- Kite with cheap instant attacks, layer traps for control
- Difficulty
- Easy — safe, sustainable solo farming from early on
- Primary Stats
- AGI, DEX, VIT
- Primary Weapon
- Bow
- Best For
- Players who want low-risk, high-safety solo leveling
- Strengths: Double Strafe is a cheap, instant, no-cast-time filler; a full trap kit for crowd control; Falcon support (Blitz Beat); and notably, Beast Strafing — normally trans-only content — is reachable directly on base Hunter's own tree here.
- Weaknesses: no flat weapon mastery, so your raw damage scales more slowly than a mastery-class; most of your safety comes from kiting, which some maps make harder than others.
Why This Build?
Double Strafe (2 hits, flat SP12, no cast time) is available from the moment you job -change and remains your core filler the whole way through. The real standout finding for GudzRO specifically: Beast Strafing (HT_POWER), which in most Ragnarok versions is Sniper-only content, is directly reachable on base Hunter's own skill tree here — confirmed by a direct read of the tree, not assumed. Combined with a full trap kit (Skid/Land Mine, Claymore, Blast Mine, Freezing Trap, Sandman, Flasher, Ankle Snare, Shockwave) and Falcon support, Hunter has more tools available at base level than any other ranged class on this server.
Stat Progression
| Stage | STR | AGI | VIT | INT | DEX | LUK |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Novice → Archer | 9 | 30 | 15 | 1 | 20 | 1 |
| Early Hunter | 10 | 50 | 20 | 1 | 40 | 1 |
| Mid Hunter | 10 | 70 | 25 | 1 | 55 | 1 |
| Endgame (Lv.99) | 10 | 99 | 30 | 1 | 70 | 1 |
AGI drives your ASPD and Vulture's Eye range; DEX drives Double Strafe's hit rate and damage. A little STR helps carry the arrows and trap materials you'll be farming with.
Skill Progression
Max First
- Vulture's Eye (requires Owl's Eye 3) — range and hit rate, foundational.
- Double Strafe — your core filler, no prerequisites.
Core
- Improve Concentration (requires Vulture's Eye 1) — a real ASPD/hit buff.
- Beast Bane — unlocks the Falconry line; no prerequisite.
- Falconry Mastery (requires Beast Bane 1) — unlocks Falcon use.
- Blitz Beat (requires Falconry Mastery 1) — your Falcon's attack skill, requires an active Falcon.
Useful Later
- Beast Strafing (requires Double Strafe 10) — another instant 2-hit skill, reachable on base Hunter here.
- Skid Trap → Ankle Snare → Shockwave Trap and Land Mine → Flasher/Sandman → Blast Mine → Claymore Trap — the two main trap chains for crowd control.
Optional
- Arrow Shower (requires Double Strafe 5) — a splash filler if you want AoE before Beast Strafing.
- Remove Trap, Talkie Box, Detect, Spring Trap — niche utility, pick up as needed.
Equipment Progression
Starter/Early Game: the shop-bought Composite Bow (ATK 29) or the stronger CrossBow (ATK 65), both shop-confirmed at Payon's Weapon Dealer alongside a full range of other bows.
Mid/Late Game: upgrade to a higher-ATK bow as budget allows; card it for accuracy or damage (see below); light armor that doesn't slow you down while kiting.
Endgame: a fully refined, carded Bow with your best available AGI/DEX gear.
Weapon Progression & Cards
Payon's Weapon Dealer sells the full early-to-mid Bow lineup, including the CrossBow — no farming required to get a solid weapon started.
- Zerom Card: +3 DEX flat — directly improves Double Strafe's damage and accuracy.
- Skeleton Worker Card: +15% damage against Medium-sized enemies, +5 base ATK — a strong general-purpose pick shared with the melee classes.
Leveling Guide
| Level Range | Where to Go | Why It Works |
|---|---|---|
| 1–20 | Early open fields | Kite freely, low danger |
| 20–40 | Slightly tougher fields, early dungeons | Double Strafe carries you comfortably at range |
| 40–55 | Early dungeon monsters, Zerom-type spawns | Worth farming for Zerom Card |
| 55–70 | Mid-tier dungeons | Falcon and traps let you handle groups safely |
| 65–80 | Tougher dungeons | Beast Strafing online — a real damage step up |
| 75–99 | Late-game hunting grounds | Full kit online, among the safest solo picks at this stage |
What Should I Farm?
- Zerom Card — your bread-and-butter DEX card.
- Skeleton Worker Card — a solid general damage card against Medium-race enemies.
Party Play
Hunter's traps and Falcon support translate well into party play — crowd control for the group, and ranged damage that doesn't compete with a melee frontline for positioning. Nothing about the build changes between solo and party play.
